Psychotherapy for Individuals and Relationships
Hi there, I’m Kellen.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am currently seeing individuals and couples. In addition to traditional therapy, I also offer ecotherapy.
My own journey of stepping into my authentic expression has underscored my passion to support others as you reconnect with your truest self. I began my career working for a community-based organization providing support, education, and advocacy for those affected by mental health struggles and suicide. I then went on to spend six years providing crisis intervention and services before transitioning to providing therapy at an LGBTQ+ community clinic. I look forward to being a fellow traveler as we walk together on your unique path toward relief, balance, and self-discovery.
I have a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute.
I currently reside in San Francisco but can provide telehealth to anyone in California. I also offer in-person sessions, either in my office or in nature.
My Approach
I am passionate about attuning to and embracing all parts of the self and exploring the fullness of your identity, expression, and experience, with the therapeutic relationship being at the heart of our work together. My practice intends to create a space of safety, depth, curiosity, and embodied ease during this collaborative process between you and I as we explore and move through complex emotions and experiences toward your goals.
My style is curious, playful, and direct, while you and I use the therapeutic relationship as a laboratory within which to facilitate the meaningful changes that will reconnect you with yourself, with life, and with the people around you. Although my training and experience have led me to specialize in certain areas, I draw on the most effective combination of clinically researched techniques and practices depending on your individual needs.
Depending on your needs, I can meet with you individually or with you and your partner(s). Depending on your needs I can meet with you individually, with you and your partner(s), or with your child.
Services
Individual therapy for adults and teens
I work with individuals dealing with life challenges such as anxiety, depression, shame, gender dysphoria, trauma, and issues with self-esteem. While I work with clients who hold a wide variety of identities within the queer community, I am particularly interested in working with trans and gender non-conforming adults and adolescents.
Relationship therapy
which can include a range of relationship constellations such as couples, partners, dyads, friends, and family members.
I specialize in working with partners involved in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships. I approach therapy with a sex-positive, kink-aware, and poly-friendly perspective, ensuring that clients feel supported and understood in all aspects of their identities and relationships.
Ecotherapy
Ecotherapy, or nature-based therapy, taps into the natural rhythms of the environment to help you reconnect with both the world around you and your inner self. In nature, we can slow down, observe, and tune in to our thoughts and feelings in a more grounded and mindful way.
During outdoor sessions with me, we’ll meet in a local park, where you’ll learn to connect with nature while also deepening your connection with yourself.
I currently offer outdoor nature therapy sessions in San Francisco. Nature is for all bodies and people, creating a safe space for everyone to experience the healing effects of nature. Research shows that time in nature can lower anxiety, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being by lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormones.
Psychedelic Integration Therapy
Each of us holds an inner wisdom that seeks healing and wholeness. Psychedelics can illuminate this wisdom, offering profound insights and transformations through altered states of consciousness.
I provide psychedelic integration sessions to help you process and make meaning of your experiences, whether they occurred in clinical, ceremonial, underground, or recreational settings. Together, we’ll explore the lessons within your journey, transforming challenges and revelations into valuable insights.
Integration work offers support for the full spectrum of psychedelic experiences—beautiful, challenging, or traumatic. These sessions create space to break feelings of isolation, process difficult emotions, and uncover the deeper significance of your journey.
Integration is typically short-term, lasting 3-5 sessions, though I also offer long-term therapy that incorporates integration into your broader goals.
Fees
For a 45-minute session, my full fee for individuals is $160 and for couples/relationships is $210.
For local sliding scale resources, I recommend Queer Life Space, the Pacific Center for Human Growth, and the Liberation Institute.
Contact
I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss how we can work together towards your personal growth and well-being. From there, we can schedule our first session if it feels right.
